The recipes are prey-model raw formulated by a PhD animal nutritionist, so the ratios are handled rather than guessed. Every batch is treated with high-pressure processing, which is the step that addresses the pathogen risk most vets raise about raw — and the company has gone seven years without a recall. Portions arrive pre-measured for your dog's weight, so there is no weighing or splitting. The trade-off is freezer space and a firm commitment to the raw approach; this is not a brand to half-try. Maev sits close to We Feed Raw but aims at a different owner: someone who wants human-grade raw with probiotics already blended in, rather than added as a separate supplement. It holds a 4.3 out of 5 on Trustpilot across more than 440 reviews and has no recalls in company history. The change owners report most often is coat and stool quality at around the two-week mark, which is the window worth judging it on. Cost lands roughly $180–220 a month for a 25–40 lb dog, and a lot of owners deliberately use it as a topper over their existing food to hold that number down — a legitimate way to trial it cheaply. This is HelloFresh's entry into dog food, and it is the only brand here that lets you choose fresh, air-dried, or a half-and-half mix — which matters more than it sounds if freezer space is your real constraint. Air-dried runs about $6.44 a day and is shelf-stable, the 50/50 mix about $7.96, and full fresh about $9.12, quoted for a roughly 25 lb dog. It carries a 4.5 out of 5 Trustpilot rating across more than 2,400 reviews and has had no recalls since launching in 2023. Being newer than the others is the honest caveat — there is less long-run track record to lean on.
